"They are worth it"
In December of 2014 The Msgr David Cruz Seminarian Education Endowment Fund was established by the family and friends of Msgr Cruz in honor of his ordination anniversary. This endowment is managed by the Catholic Foundation of the South Plains with the earnings given to seminarian education expenses for the Diocese of Lubbock.
A donor to this endowment fund recalled that Msgr. Cruz was present at her father’s bedside during his final moments. In gratitude, she chose to make a gift in his honor. Upon learning that the earnings from the fund would be dedicated to the formation of future priests through seminarian education, she affirmed, “They are worth it. The right ones are worth it.”
